The Fourth Abrahamic Religion As a aside at the very beginning, I have no wish to slight those who consider the Bahai Faith (I apologize for not being studious about the appropriate accenting of non-English languages) the fourth Abrahamic religion already. I would not have a problem with calling "Mormonism" the fifth Abrahamic religion, but I believe that the LDS Church is numerically larger and was arguably founded earlier than the Bahai Faith and deserves a more prominent "ranking".

As an additional aside, many consider "Mormonism" a off-shoot of Christianity, even many who violently assert that the LDS Church is categorically non-Christian. While it is true that most Mormons came to the LDS Faith from Christian beliefs and both groups venerate Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah, I personally acclaim that Mormonism is fundamentally different from mainstream Christianity, always has been unique, and as far as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is concerned, does not seek to "evolve" its doctrine toward a Nicene-based doctrine. I affirm that "Mormonism" is a restoration and continuation of the system and doctrine set up by Christ himself and the original Apostles and a rejection of many traditions and dogma introduced in the post-Apostolic period. I tend to agree with those that say the LDS church is outside of the Christian tradition.
